I’ve been selling high speed cable and DSL for years, and most of my customers who have DSL just don’t get even close to their advertised speeds. Cable internet service on the other hand tends to just work better and faster. When my brother switched from Qwest’s DSL service to Charter cable, his bill went down and his speeds when up almost 10X’s. While it isn’t always true that Cable is faster than DSL, it is in most cases, unless the phone company has brought fiber optics all the way into your home. (The other times cable can be slower is if you’re at the end of huge loop of cable customers, and everyone and their dog are sucking the bandwidth dry before it gets to you…)
